PRECEPT INTRODUCES NEW HYBRID CLUBS FOR WOMEN
Precept ECW Women's Hybrid Set Combines Easy-to-Hit Features and Stylish Appeal
|
Covington, Ga. — Recognizing a need for premium, performance driven
clubs for women, Precept consulted with leading experts in the field of women's
golf. The result of Precept's hard work and commitment to excellence is the new
Precept ECW Women's Hybrid set, a combination of utility woods and irons that
will allow women to enhance their games.
Precept designed the ECW Women's Hybrid set to address two key issues: clubhead
speed and launch angle. Typically, women tend to have lower clubhead speeds and
consequently, lower launch angles, meaning the ideal equipment for women needs
to offer them distance and the ability to get the ball airborne. But Precept
realized that because women play a different game than men, there was no reason
to follow the traditional set makeup. So Precept created a mixture of utility
woods and scoring irons to help women elevate their game.
“As the golf industry continues efforts to grow the game an often overlooked
segment of the market is women,” said Dan Murphy, Director of Marketing,
Precept. “Precept recognizes that women have different needs than those of male
golfers and as such has created a line of clubs that is woman specific and
performance driven.”
THE ECW Women's Hybrid set starts with two utility woods, the 3/4 (25 degrees
of loft) and the 5/6 (30 degrees of loft). These two woods are designed to
eliminate the difficulty of hitting long irons by placing tungsten weights in
the clubs for ease in getting the ball in the air, giving women more options
from a variety of lies. The woods also feature an elastomer compound insert to
help stabilize the clubhead for more solid shots, even on mis-hits. That same
playability and forgiveness carries over to the irons (7-SW). The irons feature
a longer heel-to-toe length for added forgiveness, tungsten weighting in the
trailing edge to help get the ball in the air and elastomer compound inserts to
reduce vibration and provide more feel.
To help women generate power, the ECW Women's Hybrid set comes equipped with a
57-gram, L-flex high modulus carbon graphite shaft, a lightweight shaft
designed specifically for lower clubhead speeds. The ECW Women's Hybrid set
features a stylish dynamic blue/white color scheme, that will make women
golfers the talk of the club.
“The tungsten weight and elastomer compound technology will benefit female
golfers of all skill levels with greater ability to get the ball in the air on
long irons and approach shots,” said Mike Moxie, Precept Marketing Club
Planner.
The ECW Women's Hybrid set features a MSRP of $600 and will start shipping in
October 2004.
