NEW PRECEPT WOODS “FUEL” PERFORMANCE FROM TEE AND FAIRWAY
Revolutionary new woods offer increased distance, feel and forgiveness
|
Covington, Ga. — In 2005, Bridgestone Sports has perfected the science
of golf club technology, with its brand new Precept EC FUEL Woods. Long known
for its parent company's rich heritage in tire and rubber research and
development, Bridgestone Sports has used that know-how to create a product line
designed specifically to fulfill golfers' two foremost desires, precision and
power.
The EC FUEL Driver and Fairway Woods use a unique new concept to provide
golfers of all skill levels with the ideal blend of distance and accuracy. Each
wood features a tungsten weight in the trailing edge for a lower center of
gravity resulting in optimal launch angle for increased distance, and a
pressure-injected elastomer compound insert within the clubhead for reduced
vibration, providing unparalleled feel. All of the woods also come equipped
with a graphite shaft designed specifically for EC FUEL by Mitsubishi, which is
available in Stiff-Regular (SR), Seniors (A) and Ladies (L) flexes to
accommodate a range of swing speeds.
“The EC FUEL woods are a revolutionary line of clubs that will make golf more
enjoyable for players of all skill levels,” said Mike Moxie, Precept Marketing
Club Planner. “EC FUEL woods blend precision engineering, the latest and
greatest material compositions and exclusive design concepts to offer those
golfers unrivaled performance.”
EC FUEL Driver
The Precept EC FUEL Driver is one of the longest and most forgiving drivers on
the market. Its 430cc titanium clubhead features a tungsten insert in the sole,
which lowers the club's center of gravity. Typically, larger clubheads around
400cc in size and greater tend to have a high center of gravity resulting in a
sweetspot that is higher on the clubface. These clubs, while forgiving on
mis-hits, often mean that golfers are not getting optimal results when a shot
is struck spot-on in the center of the clubface. The tungsten insert in the
trailing edge of the Precept EC FUEL promotes an optimal high trajectory and
low spin ball flight. The elastomer compound insert inside of the clubhead
makes contact even purer by reducing vibration for a more efficient energy
transfer, resulting in higher initial ball velocity and greater feel. The EC
FUEL Driver comes in 9.0 (SR flex shaft), 10.5 (SR, A) and 13 degrees of loft
(SR, A and L), and features a suggested retail price of $360.
EC FUEL Fairway Woods
The EC FUEL Fairway Woods are both easy to hit and pleasing to the eye. Crafted
of midsize 17-4 stainless steel, the EC FUEL Fairway Woods are the ideal size
and weight for added forgiveness and unmatched feel. The tungsten insert in the
sole lowers the center of gravity and makes it easy to get the ball in the air,
while the elastomer compound provides greater feel. The EC FUEL Fairway Woods
are offered in 15 (3-wood), 18 (5-wood) and 21 (7-wood) degree lofts, making
them a solid weapon of choice off the tee and in the fairway. EC FUEL Fairway
Woods feature a suggested retail price of $200 per wood.
“The new EC FUEL Driver and Fairway woods utilize Bridgestone precision
engineering like no clubs ever before them,” said Dan Murphy, Director of
Marketing, Precept. “These clubs offer accuracy and power like nothing I've
ever seen.”
The Precept EC FUEL Driver and Fairway Woods will be available October 2004 at
pro shops and golf specialty stores nationwide. For more information on the EC
